Family Gaming

We've been playing a weekly family dungeons and dragons game with Patrick on the weekends.

Last weekend we painted mini figures that Patrick's friend printed for us.

Racetrack Yard

Patrick started mowing the yard, but got really hot and tired, so he stopped for the day. We ended up with a big rectangular path around the yard which Will declared excitedly was a racetrack!
Lexa and Will proceeded to race each other around it many times. It was great because they'd been cooped up inside way too much avoiding the heat, full of energy and driving me crazy.

Napkin Hats

When Lexa sets the table, she likes to fold the napkins. She folded and taped them this time. Will said they were hats, of course.

Inner Tube Crawl

Hugh had so much fun crawling around in and out of the kids swim floaties. He was just stealing and laughing away.

A little rest break

Homemade toy

Timmy made a trailer for Will to hook on to his remote control car.

Summer Fun

A happy summer evening is a sprinkler pad and a wading pool in the yard. Will loves to run and jump into the pool. Timmy found his happy place just laying in the sprinkler. He likes to just lay there quietly awhile.
It also makes a great drinking fountain, apparently.

Water Balloon Fight!

Timmy wanted to have a water balloon fight. I found these balloon left over from the last birthday party. Lexa was hoping she wouldn't get wet. Ha! She and Will kept staying up on the "safe" porch, so I helped them out to get Timmy. Afterwards Will and Lexa were really helpful running around the yard gathering the broken balloons. I told Will it was a game like picking up Easter eggs. Then we left the bowl of broken balloons on the patio and the winds picked up ahead of the storm coming and blew them back all over the yard..

River Rock Painting

I tried to take the kids to a rock painting activity at Garner State Park, but we didn't make it there in time, so we brought some rocks home and painted them ourselves.

Why did I put a towel down again?  These tempura paints wipe up really quick and easy with a wet towel though, just hopefully they won't get their painted rocks wet because they'll wash off easy too!

Marshmallow Man

Timmy asked for marshmallows and toothpicks. I said we only have Popsicle sticks, and marshmellow man was born.

Will made a really cool marshmellow dragon, but I didn't get a photo before he was eaten.
