Happy Birthday to us

Patrick was hoping Lexa would be born on July 7th, and she was. She's already decided to be a Daddy's girl. So Lexa's birthday is July 7th, mine is on July 14th, a week later, and Patrick's is July 21st, two weeks later. Timmy's been enjoying all the cake.

On my birthday, Patrick took Timmy to the store, told him it was Mommy's birthday and asked him what to get me. Timmy said, "Birthday cake! Balloon! Birthday hat!" I thought it was neat that he understood it was my birthday and bought something for me for the first time.

Timmy Remembers He's Two

Timmy's been having a rough time. He's been hitting us and trying to hit Lexa, and throwing tantrums all day. It was so hard that first week with Lexa home. He would have a good day, then a bad day. We started time outs, and they're working. He's doing so much better now and seems to enjoy helping to fetch diapers. He wanted to help me pick her up when she was crying yesterday. He still tells me "Mommy, put Lexa up." and points to the bassinet when he wants me to play with him and gets the frustrated look on his face if I can't and sometimes wants me to carry him or hold him when I'm holding Lexa, especially if I'm also talking on the phone. He's started clinging on to my leg sometimes too. This week he's gotten much more peaceful and seems to be getting used to Lexa. Yay!

Settling In

Family of Four
We're getting used to life with baby Lexa. My mom stayed for two weeks and was so much help. She did so much cooking, washing dishes, holding baby, and playing with Timmy. Tomorrow will be our first day without her with the two kids.

She likes being held by Mommy.

Welcome to the World, Little One

Alexandra Virginia Peabody

We had our little baby girl on Tuesday morning at 5:17. I started having contractions at eight Monday night. We left for the hospital at 11:30 and my water broke in the car. I'm glad that Patrick thought to have me sit on a towel. All I wanted was an epidural at that point. It took two whole hours for them to have me ready for one. Shortly after that my parents arrived and were there in plenty of time for the birth. It only took 30 minutes of pushing and she was out. She was pink and beautiful and perfect. Patrick cut the cord this time which he didn't get to do with Timmy. She weighed in at 9 pounds, 2 ounces and is 21 inches tall. We think she's tiny. She's just so much smaller than Timmy was. Tiny fingers, tiny toes, tiny ears, nose and everything. She's such a sweet, quiet little baby. She hardly cries except when her diaper's being changed, and she likes to be swaddled in a blanket instead of kicking out of it in 5 seconds.

So pretty

Worn out. Staying in the hospital is so exhausting.

Little Helper

Patrick's parents came over to help clean again yesterday. I thought I was supposed to be the one nesting... Even little Timmy lended a hand.

So nice to have the house clean and calm now.

Ready and Waiting

We're all ready for Lexa now, just waiting and waiting. I'm SO READY. I keep looking down at my belly and thinking, okay, start contracting... Patrick's parents came over and helped clean up, and our house is cleaner than it's ever been. I just can't wait to have our little baby Lexa.

Daddy's a Sea Lion

Every morning Timmy wakes up and says, "Okay, put on your swim diaper!" We got a bigger pool so we could swim too. Timmy said "Daddy's a sea lion" just now when he saw this picture.
