Daily Life
Yesterday afternoon, at nap time, Timmy laid down on the floor under the table and fell asleep. (I moved him to the bed after I took the picture.)
An impressive line of carsNowadays, when Timmy gets upset over something, instead of rocking him or letting him nurse to calm down, I start talking about things he likes: vehicles, animals, animals riding in vehicles or we look at his books. This is also how I get him to sleep now instead of nursing at night. I whisper stories into his ear featuring pigs and monkeys riding on motorcycles and tractors.
The finger pricking isn't so bad. It's nice to know what my blood sugar is doing. Last night it was high and I can't figure out why. I had salad and cheese, egg, and tomato casserole for dinner, then walked the dog. Maybe it's because I had seconds? Or because I had an apple with peanut butter snack in the afternoon? No idea. There wasn't much sugar in that dinner.
There's a red bird outside. The birds haven't found the new bird feeder yet, but they come to our yard anyway.

Timmy's gotten his toothbrush and is trying to brush his teeth again. He loves brushing his teeth.
Thank you, Daddy
Cars and Trucks
Timmy loves to play with his cars and trucks everyday. Lately this is what he spends the majority of his time doing, when we're not reading his favorite books, which are about cars, tractors and trucks. He especially likes lining them up and taking the diggers and dump trucks outside to the sandbox.Friday, April 17, 2009

Egg Hunt
Timmy had fun hunting for Easter eggs this year. Patrick and I just scattered them around in the grass and put some in chairs. We helped him a little bit too. So did Max Dog. Max was walking around smelling the hard boiled eggs and trying to get the juice treats out of the plastic ones. He watched while I was uploading this picture and said "No Max!"I remember last year Baby Timmy just sat down and chewed on some eggs while the other kids searched for them.

Daddy Goat and Little Pig
I made this picture cut out for the party, but it was way too windy to have it out. I'm glad Patrick and Timmy took a picture in it in the living room right after I made it. It was like a sail in the 40 mile per hour winds. It was so hard to set up the party in the strong wind. It was also a pain to haul everything out to Patrick's parents and house and back again. There were so many things I didn't get to put out because of the wind or ran out of time to put out because it took so long to load and get everything there. I painted 18 animals, and only 6 of them were put up, the cute foam board apple trees, ladybugs, bandanna napkins, quilts, paper puppets, sheet I painted to look like a barn, lamb and thumbprint animal crafts, the little pop up barn tent my mom bought, the favors weren't put together, the watermelon was never carved into a pig, the mason jar glasses weren't ready, the fabric sewn on heads of the sawhorse dairy cow and steer actually blew off. We put out the pie after most people had left. My mom was in the kitchen most of the party, I think. Patrick was really busy most of the party too. We didn't play any of the games I had planned, pin the tail on the donkey, round up the animals, sing old mcdonald, do the bunny hop and chicken dance, but the kids were having so much fun just running around, and there wasn't much time. I'm glad that I just let everything go after alot of people had gotten there and just watched Timmy play. It was over so fast. He was asleep after 2 hours.I'm going to play games and do the party crafts with Timmy on Easter I think. I had some grand plans, but I think I learned alot about what not to try to do again.Timmy is Two!

All of Patrick's relatives sat in a circle next to the pig pen and fishing hole. I forgot the marshmallows on sticks for the pretend fire and couldn't find the magnetic fish, but had the fishing poles. Oh well.

Corn stalks that blew down.
Lots of friends came. We had 25 kids there and almost 40 adults! Mom made so much yummy food. We had pigs in a blanket, wagon wheel pasta salad, Boston baked beans, roasted corn on the cob, chex mix chicken feed, goldfish crackers, strawberries, veggies and dip, homemade breads, fresh squeezed lemonde, cupcakes, and five people brought pies. I made homemad ice cream, but forgot to bring it out. Mom also made muffins, and we made strawberry jam together for people to take home.
A calf came to visit. I wasn't expecting him.
Timmy takes Daddy for a walk by the apple tree. The apples were filled with animal crackers.

The kids tables had farm puzzles and toys and crafts that it was way to windy to do.

The carrot patch was a big hit. I had straw hats for all the kids and I made stick horses for them. I also made animal noses and ears

Timmy's ready to drive the tractor.
Patrick's cousin, Josh, took everyone for a hayride with the tractor. That's when Timmy fell asleep.
Opening Presents
Timmy got all kinds of vehicles, which he loves: firetrucks, construction vehicles, cars, trucks, bulldozers, tractors, garbage trucks, and a Thomas the train phone. His favorites are a big Lightning McQueen car and two little matchbook car size digger and forklift. He took those with him to blow out the candles on his cake.

Yay! Confetti all over!
