Pumpkin Patch

We went to a pumpkin patch and picked out a pumpkin back in October. We had some pictures taken and only just got around to getting them back.
Timmy in the hay maze. He enjoyed it.

Timmy's First Aggie Football Game

Patrick wanted to take Timmy to his first A&M football game last weekend. They played Baylor, and A&M won. There was also a record breaking 97 yard touchdown run. Timmy was excited about going to see Reveille. He got to see her on the Jumbo tron at the game. They walked around campus, watched the band march in, and Timmy waved his twelfth man towel. During the end of the third quarter, he asked for me and Lexa. I was surprised and happy to hear that he missed Lexa too.

Patrick also took Timmy to the park last weekend. Patrick said he played around by himself kind of lazily until another little boy came, and that Timmy happily ran up to the boy, hugged him, and exclaimed that the boy was here to play with him. He was disappointed that Kaykay, a girl from playgroup, wasn't at the playground today. He kept asking where she was, saying she was lost. He calls all girls either Kaykay or Emmalin and all pictures of himself as a baby, Lexa.

Timmy gets scared sometimes now. Patrick said that Timmy was scared of a stick covered in moss on the way to the park. Timmy said it was a big worm that was going to bite him, and tiptoed the rest of the way to the playground. He's also scared of certain loud noises sometimes. I think he's scared of the dark if he wakes up alone, and sometimes he's scared of monsters, although he usually calms himself down and says they just want a Popsicle or a lollipop.

Funny Kids

Silly faces

exhausted after a long day

a new way to ride

Today Timmy hugged himself around my leg and said "A little boy is trying to pick up a big pineapple." I guess that makes me the big pineapple. Then he started playing dog, which was cute until he decided to eat his snack like a dog - without using his hands, big mess all over Timmy and the floor. He really loves using his imagination now.

Fireman Timmy

The College Station fire department was at story time last week. Timmy got to look at and sit in a firetruck and walk through the back of an ambulance. He had a big grin on his face the whole time. I forgot to bring the camera for when he was pretending to drive the fire truck in the fireman hat they gave him. Darn. The fireman demonstrated how quickly he could get his fireman outfit on, and I guess Timmy remembered the boots. The other day at home he dressed himself up in the fireman hat along with my boots and stomped around the house.

Pretty Baby

Lexa hasn't been sleeping for long stretches during the day anymore. It's much harder to get Timmy down for his nap without her fussing at some point. So that hasn't been fun. I've been reading to Timmy in the rocking chair until he falls asleep at nap time. But this week it doesn't take long before she starts crying and needing to be held, usually when Timmy is just about to fall asleep. I get up to pick her up and he's off, still sleepy and cranky though.
I take her all around with me, and she likes just sitting and watching kids playing at playgroup and music class. She falls asleep pretty easily on her own too. It surprises me every time she does it.
She's been sleeping through the night for months now. She falls asleep when I turn off the lights and nurse her at 11pm and doesn't wake up until 6 or 7 am to nurse, then right back to sleep.
She's so sweet and loves to smile. We're waiting for her to laugh sometime soon.
She'll hold a rattle for a few seconds now and is touching things with her hands more and more. She still spits up, but mostly just when I've put on a new outfit, and not nearly as much during that first month.
Her hair has gotten thinner on top, but still thicker and darker around the bottom. Patrick commented that maybe she's going to take after her granddad, hairwise. haha
I cherish every moment I get to sit and just hold her and cuddle. It's not nearly as much as I got to with Timmy. I'm constantly having to put her down to chase/play with/help/feed/stop Timmy.

Football Tuesdays

Patrick's football games are Tuesday evenings. They got to play the other college station middle school this week at the high school's Tiger Stadium. It's exciting to watch sometimes, although for me it's mostly reading Timmy books, coloring, singing, and pretty much constant Timmy entertaining. Patrick is on the far side, very, very small, either yelling, calling out plays, or blowing his whistle.

Timmy's not very interested in watching football games.

Airplanes and Dogs

One thing I love about our new city is that there's so much more to do. Last Saturday we went to Wienerfest in the morning and watched a dog parade and dog costume contest. Timmy felt a handful of snow at the ice skating rink's booth, made a dog puppet, sat in a bouncy castle, had his hand painted with a puppy dog face (he was scared to have it painted on his cheek), and saw all kinds of dogs as well as a donkey. In the afternoon, Patrick got off work, and we went to an air show. Timmy loved seeing the little airplanes. We didn't realize how much he was enjoying it until we went to put him in the car and he realized we were leaving and started protesting. We also saw a helicopter, a fire truck and an ambulance.
Here's a picture of the smallest airplane Patrick has ever seen.

Helping Daddy

Painting the dog house with Daddy. Timmy loves to paint, and loves to help. He helps me carry things, throw trash in the trash can, fetch things. It surprises me every time. It usually doesn't occur to me to ask for his help, I'm so used to being the one helping him. Patrick said the painting was much, much less messy without Timmy's help.

Brother and Sister

A kiss

She's smiling at him and touching his hair. So sweet..

"Being nice and gentle." I think I've probably repeated that
phrase at least a hundred times by now.
(I don't know how he got the scratch on his nose. I swear it wasn't there when I buckled him into his car seat the other day, and there it was when I was getting him out of the car. All he had was a apple and a sippy cup at the time, buckled in his seat.)

Storytime

The sweetest picture. He's reading to Lexa.

Timmy's first time at Kyle Field. We went to the College Station vs. Bryan high school football game. It was a good game. College Station tigers won. Timmy liked the band's hats and drums. We saw the lights on an airplane in the night sky and he told me it was a spaceship. He really wanted to ride in the ambulance that was parked next to the field.
One other thing about this picture. I am SO going to get on the ball about losing post baby weight now.
