I thought I would go natural because I could withstand pain but I begged for the epidural. I had epidurals when I has in labor both times. The first time I tried to go without it but gave in at 8 centimeters. Patrick was dissappointed I think. The second time I planned on having one, but it took hours before they gave it to me anyway.

Eight Months Pregnant!
Getting more pregnant everyday. I've been feeling pretty good, but tired. Bending over is difficult. The toys are staying on the floor longer. I didn't realize how much getting up and down I'm always doing until lately, when I've just wanted to stay on the couch. Timmy is always pulling my finger, trying to get me up, or calling me over, wanting me to climb into baskets that he says are trucks or trains. I'm ready to not be pregnant anymore. There's still lots of organizing the house I want to do, but getting myself up and going is the problem. I wanted to have a garage sale too, but I don't know if that will happen. It must be the nesting thing. I just want to clear out the house and get rid of things. Today I'm going to get out the boxes of Timmy's baby clothes and sort out what's not too boyish. That will be fun. I love baby clothes. My doctor has said there's a possibility he may want induce me up to ten days early, because he's worrying about her getting too big. Timmy was ten pounds. So I may have even less time. I'm excited though. I can't wait to hold her.

I finally got my blood glucose test results back, and I failed. I wasn't expecting that. The doctor said they were "mildly abnormal". So I guess I'm diabetic, like mom, but just for the pregnancy, hopefully. So I'm trying to figure out a good diet plan and exercising everyday. I thought they'd give me more instructions than just "1800 calories a day". I'm not looking forward to pricking my finger twice a day. Does it hurt a lot? I'm afraid to eat anything with sugar in it. I had some cereal and blueberries for breakfast and am sitting here worrying about it.
Timmy's gotten his toothbrush and is trying to brush his teeth again. He loves brushing his teeth.

Baby Names
I love the name Alexandra Virginia, but it's apparently taken by a city, one that everyone's heard of but Patrick and I. So now we're not sure about the name. Patrick really wants to keep Alexandra, so we're thinking about Alexandra Catherine.

girl, Girl, GIRL!
Baby #2 is a ... GIRL! We're so excited. We're going to have a daughter! Wow. The ultrasound technician was pretty confident about it. She wasn't in the most photogenic position, but you can see her hands and feet and head in the pictures. In the top one Patrick says she's holding up her finger saying she's number one. She already weighs two pounds. The doctor said she's within what's normal for size and he doesn't see any problems. I really couldn't decide whether I wanted another boy or a girl before before finding out, but I was so thrilled when the technician said it was a girl. I started to cry a little. Then I cried again when I called my mom in the doctor's waiting room. I was so happy. Other people in the waiting room could hear and were smiling at me. I just called and asked her if she could receive photos on her cell phone, because we wanted to send her a picture of her granddaughter! It was really fun to tell her because I think she was hoping for a granddaughter. She loves her girls and all things girly so much. We sent my sister a picture too, and she sent us a message back saying that she shrieked in the elevator when she got it. Everyone's really excited.
I can't wait to meet little baby Lexa. I think we're going to name her Alexandra Virginia Peabody. It's a mouthful, but it's the only name we've agreed that we both like so far. Virginia is my mom's middle name. Oh no, I'm getting teary eyed again..... so happy.

A boy or a girl
So is baby #2 a boy or a girl? A boy would be nice. Timmy would have a buddy. We'd be a team and do boy stuff all the time. Sounds like a fun, active life being the mom of two boys. A girl would be something new. Pretty dresses, I could share the girl stuff I liked growing up, and be friends when she grows up like my sister and I are with our mom. So a boy or a girl........ We'll find out tomorrow.

Kick, Kick
Patrick felt the baby kick for the first time last night. We went out to a movie together and were sitting with his hand on my belly. The baby was only kicking where Patrick's hand was, and when he moved his hand the baby started kicking in the new spot! I remember that Timmy would always freeze when Patrick would put his hand on my belly to try to feel him kicking.
Patrick was excited that it was while we were watching the movie, The Watchmen, that he felt the first kick.
