Funny Timmy

Timmy tried to stand on his toy trailer last night, and when he fell off he said, "Oh snap!" This morning he was running around and when he stopped he said, " Whoa, incredible." Right now he's pretending that a fence is a truck. Kind of a stretch, I think. Earlier he was laying all his cars on their sides and telling them goodnight. He cracks me up.

I took the dogs to the vet for checkups and shots this morning. Max always gets so scared that he poops. He enjoyed the car ride though. Timmy's still at Granny and Papa's. I used to like having a break and getting some things done, but now I just miss him so much when he's there.

Mowing the Lawn

Timmy enjoyed playing with his lawn mower yesterday. He pushed it all over the yard for a really long time, twenty minutes or so! He even started to work up a sweat.

Daily Life

Yesterday afternoon, at nap time, Timmy laid down on the floor under the table and fell asleep. (I moved him to the bed after I took the picture.)

An impressive line of cars

Nowadays, when Timmy gets upset over something, instead of rocking him or letting him nurse to calm down, I start talking about things he likes: vehicles, animals, animals riding in vehicles or we look at his books. This is also how I get him to sleep now instead of nursing at night. I whisper stories into his ear featuring pigs and monkeys riding on motorcycles and tractors.

The finger pricking isn't so bad. It's nice to know what my blood sugar is doing. Last night it was high and I can't figure out why. I had salad and cheese, egg, and tomato casserole for dinner, then walked the dog. Maybe it's because I had seconds? Or because I had an apple with peanut butter snack in the afternoon? No idea. There wasn't much sugar in that dinner.

There's a red bird outside. The birds haven't found the new bird feeder yet, but they come to our yard anyway.

I finally got my blood glucose test results back, and I failed. I wasn't expecting that. The doctor said they were "mildly abnormal". So I guess I'm diabetic, like mom, but just for the pregnancy, hopefully. So I'm trying to figure out a good diet plan and exercising everyday. I thought they'd give me more instructions than just "1800 calories a day". I'm not looking forward to pricking my finger twice a day. Does it hurt a lot? I'm afraid to eat anything with sugar in it. I had some cereal and blueberries for breakfast and am sitting here worrying about it.

Timmy's gotten his toothbrush and is trying to brush his teeth again. He loves brushing his teeth.
