Almost Party Time

So much to do. I asked Timmy if he wanted a dinosaur, zoo animal, or Cars birthday party. At first he said dinosaurs, but then he went back to and stuck with his true love, cars.
My family helped me finish everything up. Patrick's parents cleaned our house. Although I was up pretty late and still setting up outside until the last minute, getting ready went so much more smoothly than last year's nightmare.

Mom and I cut out car parts out of foam for a craft, as Sara apparently passes out on the table??

Hanging pennants. It turned out looking very festive.

Setting up main street of Radiator Springs from the Cars movie outside.

Race track is done.

Family Visit

My parents and Sara came to visit for Timmy's birthday. It was the first time my dad had gotten to visit since the day we moved in last August.

Dinner at Abuelos

I think this means, 'This margarita is much bigger than I expected."

This is cute too, Sara.

Timmy is trying to climb into her chair with her.

Lexa sleeps while Grandmom eats a banana.

Bluebonnets

We went to the hill country to see the wildflowers and especially the bluebonnets with my family and Sara's friend, Heather. It was quite a bit of riding in the car in one day for the kids, but it went smoothly. We saw some fields of blue and some very pretty white poppy fields too.
Timmy calls some yellow ones black eyed Suzy-ans.

First we went to the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower center. He's ready with his magnifying glass and binoculars.

Sara, Mom and Heather's car.
I enjoyed riding with Dad while he told me stories about summers at the lake as a kid when he'd bike down hills covered in bluebonnets and then eat the best peaches that don't ripen until August.
This picture with the llama is my favorite picture

Picnic time
(Note to Dad: I scanned these pictures just by pushing scan on the scanner and something didn't come out right. I'll change out these for ones with better color at some point. I know you spend a lot of time editing and fixing the color on your wonderful photos.)

Looking in the creek that was next to our picnic spot at Enchanted Rock

We ate dinner at a place that said it had the best chicken fried steak. Mom ordered it and said it was good. The cobbler was very bad. Timmy kept Heather busy playing spider hand.

Timmy always tells me now that his favorite flowers are bluebonnets

Dog Kiss

Daddy's Girl

Patrick is very busy these days. He's the AVID coordinator at his school now. So he is trying to help some kids get to go to college the wouldn't have without some help. He got to hire several tutors to help him. He's also coaching football. He's the offensive coordinator for the eighth grade teams, which is exciting because he finally gets to run the offense the way he wants and he has some great athletes. They won their first game against Brehnam last week and he came home really happy. Friday nights he scouts for the high school football team and puts together and gives scouting reports every other weekend. So far he's gone to the Woodlands, Tyler, and San Antonio. He's also started taking grad school courses online through Sam Houston University in Huntsville in his spare time(mostly all day Sundays) to get his principal certification. He says the best part of his day is coming home and getting a hug and a kiss from Timmy. He always spends some time playing with him as soon as he gets home. Lexa toddles up to him too and wants him to hold her also . It's so sweet and unexpected. She already loves him too.

Spring

I love spring. I can't wait for sundresses and sandals, wildflowers, nice weather, outside days, starting our garden, watching ducklings at the park, fawns at my parent's house, spring break when Patrick's home, taking Timmy for nature hikes, planning his birthday party, picnics...
I bought a wildflower field guide to read so I could tell Timmy what the flowers are when he asks me, "What's that?" I want to be able to tell him the names like my parents always did for us. Timmy loves flowers. We're always bringing them home from the park. He sometimes brings me some home from the store when he goes with Daddy.
These are coreopsis.
Timmy has also told me that bugs are pretty.

Sillies

Silly kids.

Lexa likes to play pass the toy, or in this case, apple, back and forth with your mouth.
She also likes to crawl around carrying things in her mouth.

She looked at Timmy the other day and said, "Bruh Bruh". It may have just been a baby babble coincidence, but I like to think she was calling him brother.
